Can we just take a minute for how fast 2016 has flown by. I feel that I say this about every year, but the older I get the more I feel this way about the past years that have gone by.
Its safe to say that after I made the decision to start blogging I have defiantly been trying out more and more products. Which has lead me to discover many new loves plus some not so great. Todays post though, is going to be about the few bits and pieces that I have been absolutely reaching for over and over again throughout the whole year!
For most of the year I have skipping out on using foundation. However Concealer has been the one product I can not live without.
So far nothing has really compared to the Maybelline Fit me Concealers, I am just as in love with it as the first time I discovered them. I have quite dry skin and my under eyes are no exception and also have some discolouration. So finding a medium coverage concealer that does not emphasis my dryness but cover ups the darkness has been a challenge.
I have the shades 20 (for when I have no tan) and 25 (for the summer time) As you can see they are very well loved! I am planing to try out the Tarte Shape Tape and see how that compares.
Then to set everything under the eyes I have been loving the Wet n Wild Mega Glo Contouring Palette. I hauled this towards the end of the year, but honestly it has replaced most of my other powders. There is something about it that almost smooths everything out and creates such a nice finish to the skin.
I apply this with a beauty blender. In fact I apply most of my face powders with a beauty blender these days. If you have very dry skin like mine then this will be a game changer in your routine.
It really has been all about the eyes for me this year! I have been enjoying experimenting with different wing shapes and using different tones of eyeshadow which I may not have necessarily used in the past.
Out of all the palettes I own this one has to be the one that I have reached for the most and have taken with me on vacation last year. So although I am testing out new ones which I am really impressed with and enjoying, it would be a lie not to include this beauty of a palette!
Have also been really into using mac paint pot in quite natural as a base for the shadows. I feel like the tone of quite natural meshes really well with the red/orange tone of the Anastasia palette.
Have to give a small shout out to Mittens and Muse from Colourpop, very new addition to my collection, but paired together or separate are just perfect!
Then for liner on those days where you just want a little bit extra. I would be lying if I said I have used anything but this Tom Ford liquid liner! It is worth the price tag trust me!
For mascara I couldn’t narrow it down to just one. both the YSL shocking and The Balm Mad Lash give you volume/ length and intensity to your lashes that it looks like your wearing falsies! They both are long wearing and do not flake or smudge on my lashes. Definite staples in my collection.
And to finish off the face the three products I have been reaching for none stop is the Max Factor blush in Alluring Rose / Chanel Les Beiges Bronzer and Sleek Solstice highlighting palette. Sometimes I’ll even just put on some highlighter without any bronzer or blush.
There you have it! I know this was quite a lengthy post but hope you enjoyed it.Stay tuned for the next post, which will be on my 2016 favourite skin/body and hair care!
Thank you so much for stopping by and hope you are all having a lovely day/night.
